Why have counselling?
When a problem becomes overwhelming it can affect how you function in your daily life, your sleep patterns, performance at work and relationships. Counselling can provide the positive environment to talk about what is going on for you, gain insight into this and look at what you would like to change.
Some reasons to come for counselling
- Domestic violence/abuse
- Low self esteem
- Relationship issues
- Work related stress
How does it counselling work?
My role is to facilitate change by enabling you to talk about your problems in a quiet and relaxed setting, confidentially and without being judged. Your wellbeing is at the centre of my counselling relationship with you. It is all about you. This may be the first time that you have been really listened to and had someone try to understand your problems. Being heard properly can start the recovery process.
Talking about your problems can be a huge relief. Being able to unburden yourself and to understand your problems and then look at what you'd like to be different creates the space to look at solutions and ways to allow change. I won't tell you what to do or give advice but I will help you look at your problems from different perspectives and help you work towards your vision of what would allow you to be happy.
